About

The Artist

Born in Rochester, NY, and raised in Memphis, Carlos Wright’s love for music began at just 10 years old. Coming from a family deeply rooted in music—his grandfather and great uncle sang in gospel groups in the 1950s, and his uncle was a jazz musician in the ’70s and 80s—Carlos was destined to carry the torch forward.

By age 15, Carlos had formed his first band, South Side. In high school, he joined a vocational program in Electric Recording, a turning point that taught him not only how to perform but also how to record and produce full albums. From there, his creativity flourished as he began writing, producing, and developing a sound that blended groove, soul, and rhythm that made people move.

Carlos’s journey soon expanded beyond the stage. His talents led to producing and performing a soundtrack theme song for a small-budget film—an opportunity that earned him and his songwriting partner a nomination for an American Track Award, a recognition that celebrates excellence in soundtracks.

Over the years, Carlos has achieved many milestones, including appearing on the Roll It On The River Show podcast and television program, as well as performing in the impactful Stop the Violence Concert alongside other notable artists. Each step has only fueled his drive to keep creating, performing, and inspiring.

Today, Carlos Wright continues to chase bigger dreams, with his sights set on producing chart-topping music and ultimately winning a Grammy Award. His journey reflects passion, resilience, and the power of music to inspire and bring people together.
